Mob Psycho 100 is an anime with a take on supernatural society by ‘One’ Sensei. A story of a boy who had troubles controlling his overpowered Esp power and his immense determination to be strong in other parts of life. Together with that, he is shy, unsure, totally awkward, emotionless and his friend circle is small. The season 2 of Mob Psycho 100 took a slight change than going to an obvious clichè track. It can evidently be seen by the change in characters presently. There is strong character development being done, which is indeed a treat.
Among all the episodes the show has aired we could say episode 6 and 7 could be marked as Reigen’s arc episodes. Episode 6 starts off with him leaving his normal office desk job. Episode 7 clarifies us why he is quitting his old robotic, repetitive and boring life. Reigen quit his job as he was able to see that this is not how he would be getting anywhere he wanted to go in his life.
Reigen gets an entire psychic business idea while in search of a new job. Doing massages and spraying salts at his clients Reigen psychologically wins his clients. A sharp tongue with keen observation and astounding confidence make him a pro in front of anyone. Later down the road with Mob as his sidekick, Reigen takes the fame step by step.
With his success, Reigen was quick to make enemies, the one who can’t agree with someone else taking his spot. In episode 7 the psychic exposes and strips open the reality of Reigen on live TV. This sends his career on a downhill further social media makes him a huge meme and turns him into the next big story.
Conclusion:
We do get an insight into Reigen’s past, during a press conference, and his dream of how he wants to be “somebody”. The press conference goes on with the journalist asking him a lot of questions and digging up his past. Reigen carefully and psychologically answers the press, which was a child’s play for Reigen, the greatest con-man in the room.
The press meeting gets to a conclusion with Reigen recollecting himself. He thinks about his bond with Mob. Reigen recalls how he was the one who was holding Mob back all these years just to take advantage of him. Reigen then acknowledges Mob on how much he has grown up.
